Kingfisher Comfort Systems
With over 30 years’ experience, we utilise three key systems when designing for comfort scenarios – colour temperature, diffusers and reflector technology.
Colour Temperature
Defined as a way to describe the appearance of light provided by a source, colour temperature is measured by the Kelvin (K) Colour Temperature Scale. Dependant on the area, we often see these temperatures used in commercial and residential areas which can fall between 2000K and 6500K.
The Kingfisher Lighting Design Team recommend using 2700K – 3000K for a warmer illumination instead of a cooler shade which mimics daylight and isn’t as comfortable.
Products available in 2700K include CIRECO, VIVA-CITY Pro, AURIGA 2.0, VILLA II, SEMITA Urban.
Diffusers
Often used to soften light distributions across sites, diffusers are an excellent method to creating reduce harsh light and glare. A diffuser varies from opaque glass through to ‘click ons’ which allows light to be transferred through a service and produce a far more comfortable output for many locations.
In the Kingfisher Product Range, we can offer various luminaires with this option including SEMITA URBAN, VILLA II, AURIGA 2.0, VIVA-CITY PRO, CIVICA 2.0 and CIRECO.
Reflector Technology
A popular choice for many luminaires, many people have been led to believe PMMA is the best option. However, we utilise reflector technology across many of our luminaires in order to get the highest efficacy and excellent distributions. Allowing reduced glare and improved control of the light source, reflectors guarantee better light management and enhanced performance.
We have many options containing reflector systems from the AMNIS Series through to ITALO and I-TRON. The Kingfisher team will be able to guide you through the best options to enhance both comfort and performance throughout your site.
