Home of the Seasiders, The Mounting System Stadium at Queensgate, Bridlington recently received a huge upgrade to their facilities after their acquisition by HDM Energies. Reducing their annual costs by around £42,000, the contract allows Bridlington Town AFC to benefit from a new lighting system, improved facilities and much more.
The Project
Kingfisher Sport and High Mast were requested to create a fully retrofitted lighting scheme to replace the site’s former system. As with any retrofit project, we immediately began by assessing the structural integrity of the existing apparatus, conducting non-destructive testing and evaluating the required lighting levels to meet professional standards.
Located near the coast, residential housing, and other sports facilities, the site required careful consideration of light pollution to ensure the illumination was fully controlled.
The Solution
After much deliberation, we opted for the AMNIS Match luminaire bringing power, performance and precision to the pitch. This advanced flood features a reflector system which promotes outstanding visual comfort for players and spectators alike whilst encouraging excellent efficiency further reducing the overall energy consumption of the site.
Keeping environmental considerations in mind, the dedicated Kingfisher Design Team utilised a series of optics across the ground to ensure precise illumination with minimal light spill and ULOR onto the surrounding areas.
Overall, we achieved a high-performance lighting scheme bringing 200 lux and 0.6 uniformity ensuring the site perfectly met BS EN 12191 Class II Levels of Play without excessively high operating costs.
