Moreton Rangers FC

Founded in 1907, Moreton Rangers are a Charter Standard football club based in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucester. After running into tough times in the mid-90s, the team secured new funding and grew from strength to strength in the early 2000s. The club continues to grow and even become FA accredited, ensuring they have the best practices throughout.

After a devastating fire destroyed the club’s amenities, they pulled together and raised over £100K to repair and replace all that was lost. Following the building restorations, the club aimed to refurbish their lighting system as the previous flood lights were over 40 years old!

 

Moreton Rangers reached out to the Kingfisher Sport team who were challenged with creating a new scheme in order to extend the grounds training hours and meet FA standards.

 

The Project

 

The club required a 200 lux pitch and wanted to use some of their pre-existing equipment. However, with safety and future proofing in the forefront of everyone's mind, it was decided that the use new 15m masts were needed in order to meet FA standards and achieve the best possible results.

 

The Fittings

Illuminating such a large area as this pitch, we needed a luminaire that would produce no backspill onto the surrounding residential areas. AMNIS Flood was the perfect solution. Not only does it offer high-performance but due to its reflector based system, it offers a more efficient output.

 

AMNIS Flood emits a flicker free output and reduces stroboscopic effects both on and off pitch, making it an excellent choice for both sports and high mast lighting. Designed and engineered in the UK, the AMNIS range was created with versatility in mind and allows not only visual comfort for those on the pitch but also for spectators streaming from home.

 

We specifically chose the 15m octagonal columns from our high mast range. The profile of these masts makes them stronger than the usual conical or tubular column and can withstand the headload of the AMNIS fitting and bespoke bracketry.

 

Overall Moreton Rangers FC now have a state-of-the-art lighting scheme allowing them to perform and train after dusk.
